Entrance Requirement:
Students may register in an individual course in the honours program if their qualifying grade 9 mark in that subject is 80% or greater.

Curriculum Focus:
A curriculum that has greater enrichment while providing entrance to post secondary institutions and meeting requirements for an Alberta High School diploma.

Student Evaluation:
Assessment is based upon curriculum standards established by Alberta Education. Students are not assessed in comparison to other students within the class.
Assignments tend to be more open-ended and promote creative and critical thinking while students work in a more independent atmosphere.

Teaching and Learning:
Basic skills and concepts extended and reinforced through project work.
Teacher-facilitated learning placing greater emphasis on student initiative. Some topics require student independent learning.
