Archbishop MacDonald is a unique school with specialized academic programs and a small school atmosphere.

The Edmonton Catholic School District has designated Archbishop MacDonald as the academic alternative school with the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). In addition to providing a strong academic foundation, Archbishop MacDonald has excellent courses in fine arts, modern languages, career and technology studies, physical education and religious studies. Due to the focus of the school, Archbishop MacDonald has a tradition of academic excellence with spiritual dimensions and community involvement.
