of music, drama and art. We will observe how the fine arts
illuminate the sciences, religions and social customs throughout
history.

all students in Instrumental Music 20H and IB Music 20 will study
world music, music theory, composition, and music history as set

students will be assessed in grade 12 (IB Music 30).
The
International Baccalaureate Curriculum for music will be taught
over the grade eleven and twelve years culminating in three evaluations
that will be prepared in the grade twelve year. These
three evaluations include:
a group performance evaluation in the form of a 5 – 15 minute recording
of the group which is evaluated internally and moderated externally;
a musical investigation consisting of a 1200 to 1500 word media
script assessed externally; and a written examination, in May of
the grade 12 year, assessed externally. The IB curriculum
focuses on five areas of study: Music in Western Society, World
Music, Musical Literacy, Performance, and Composition.
