The senior varsity women’s basketball team has quickly
established themselves as a contender in the Metro City Conference
this season. Although the team’s current record is 3
wins and 3 losses, the women have had very convincing wins
whereas the losses were by very narrow margins. Regardless
the outcome, the women have put forth tremendous efforts in
each of their 6 games.
The women take their wonderful attitude on the road next week
(Jan 30th –Feb 1st) as they travel to Cochrane,
Alberta to participate in the Bow Valley High School
Invitational Tournament. Students and staff should be
proud to have this group of athletes representing Archbishop
MacDonald High School.

The preseason proved to be
a good team building experience. We worked hard, enjoyed ourselves,
got to know each other as players (and then some), and won
one game out of our 3 preseason and Lloydminster tournament
games. But ... we started gaining real momentum.
We've started 2004 with a BANG. We've played one more preseason
and two league games and won all three!
We've also managed to make basketball a bit of a bloodsport.
Brian Claypool gashed up a knee and Jake Aller split his chin
for stitches. Certainly adds excitement to the games! And
Sean Reid did an amazing break job on a leg while snowboarding
over Christmas. We started with 13 players and are now down
to ten.
The excitement, in other words our games, is played every
Monday and Wednesday. Come and be a fan!!Next home games are:
Wednesday, Feb. 4 vs. St. Francis Xavier @ 4:45 pm
Monday, Feb. 8 vs. Bellerose @ 4:45 pm
Wednesday, Feb. 18 vs. O'Leary @ 4:45 pm
