Gresham
High School IB Biology web site
This is an awesome
resource for IB biology students: concise notes on many IB biology
topics: good
reviews of material covered (a great idea to use this site when
studying for unit exams, or
for your IB exam in a few years! – Note: it is only Standard
Level biology, not Higher Level). From
the main page, click on “Cell Respiration and Photosynthesis”
From this page, access notes
and review questions which ask you to identify and answer and then
verify if your answer is <
correct. Bookmark this site for further use in other units.
Photosynthesis
Review Questions from the Online Biology Book
This is a great
site for review of all concepts presented. The review questions
will help you prepare
for exams.
Animations
for Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration
This site has
TONS of great animations of many biological topics, including photosynthesis
and cellular
respiration. Under photosynthesis be sure to check out the “more
photosystems info” animation.
Under cellular Respiration, view the Glycolysis, Kreb’s Cycle
and Electron Transport Chain
animations. Make sure that you read the info that is provided with
these animations! Watch them
more than once to get a good understanding of the topic!)
Great
animations from MacGraw-Hill textbook company
From the homepage,
you have to choose a chapter to study: Chapter 9 is cellular respiration,
Chapter 10 is
photosynthesis. Choose a chapter…there is amazing information
for every chapter, but
you for sure should check out the animations, which are narrated
and show very well the processes
of both photosynthesis and cellular respiration. (requires shockwave
for animations) Bookmark
this site for future use in other units!

Metropolis
- “Metropolis examines contemporary life through design--architecture,
interior
design, product
design, graphic design, crafts, planning, and preservation. Subjects
range from the
sprawling urban environment to intimate living spaces to small objects
of everyday
use. In looking for why design happens in a certain way, Metropolis
explores
the economic,
environmental, social, cultural, political, and technological context.
With
its innovative
graphic presentation and its provocative voice, Metropolis shows
how
richly designed
our world can be.”
